Sacramento California lies in the North-Central part of the state of California at the junction of the Sacramento and American Rivers.  Sacramento is the state Capitol of California and county seat with our presiding and world famous Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.  Sacramento was founded in 1849 by John Sutter and has a rich history which spans such things as the Gold Rush, Pony Express, and the first Continental Railroad.

Today, Sacramento is known as the "City of Trees", for its numerous trees that dot the landscape.  If you are considering Sacramento Real Estate and specifically the downtown areas,  driving through the many peaceful and shaded tree-lined streets you will find a wide variety of architectural styles to choose from.  Victorian, Colonial, Spanish Eclectic, Craftsman, Tudor and Gothic Revival homes are among the classic offerings.  These Sacramento Real Estate properties date back from the mid 1800's and offer a rich menu of history and period homes.

Surrounding these areas you have a center of government and civic activity, with culture, business and expansion.  Entertainment, theaters, historic buildings and the Sacramento Convention and Community Center support the amenities that attract so many people to this area.
